Lapsed Mediator Information
If your certification has lapsed, you may submit an Application for Renewal for up to five years from the lapse date.
If your certification has lapsed less than 30 days, you may submit application without penalty.
If your certification has lapsed more than 30 days, but less than one year, you may submit application with payment of late fees. Regardless of the years lapsed, county mediators are subject to a $100 lapsed fee, and all other mediators are subject to a total lapsed fee of $250. These fees are in addition to the standard renewal fees.
For certifications that have lapsed longer than one year, two additional hours of continuing mediator education (CME) per year are required.
- Lapsed one year = 18 hours of CME required
- Lapsed two years = 20 hours of CME required
- Lapsed three years = 22 hours of CME required
- Lapsed four years = 24 hours of CME required
Certifications that are lapsed more than five years are not eligible for renewal. Please visit the Mediator Certification Qualifications & Resource page for more information.
